This morning Hasbro and Lucasfilm launched their third #mandomondays event and announced two different Black Series items. The first was the Remant Trooper from The Mandalorian. This figure was expected as it is both an easy repaint and was already released in The Vintage Collection line. The downside to this figure is that it is a Target exclusive which means purchasing it online will be difficult as figures typically sell out in minutes. Folks will want to hit brick and mortar stores later this fall to secure this figure. The second item was the piece that was hinted at in last week's This Week in Star Wars episode. Yesterday morning we had the privilege of sitting down with members of Hasbro's Star Wars Brand Team. From4-LOMtoZuckuss.com and a few fellow fansites spoke with Patrick Schneider and Chris Reiff in an exclusive question and answer session over Zoom. This morning Lucasfilm launched their first official Mando Mondays with not only the debut of tons of new products based on The Mandolorian but staring many of the stars from the hit Disney+ series. Toy lines such as LEGO and Funko were represented by Hasbro stole the show with numerous releases. Each of the items previewed in the video went up for sale at 1 PM PST. On this particular Monday, Target, Wal*Mart, Amazon, and Hasbro Pulse/Shop Disney all had exclusives. This morning Hasbro successfully began their first virtual convention, Hasbro PulseCon. The event began at 8 AM PST with fantasy gaming panels before transitioning to three consecutive Star Wars panels at 10:30 AM PST. The first panel hosted by members of Hasbro's design and marketing team as well a representation by LFL. During the panel, numerous Black Series and Vintage Collection figures were announced. Among them were a new wave of Archive figures, a new TVC reissue wave, a wave of Holiday Edition Black Series figures, few exclusive TBS and TVC figs, and a few non-exclusives. This week we were treated to a special delivery from Hasbro in the form of a very long box! Finn, my 10-year-old, delivered it to my office had no idea what was inside but upon discovering it was Darth Revan's Force FX Elite lightsaber he began jumping around and begging we open it immediately. Coincidentally, we had started play Knights of the Old Republic on the original Xbox the night before. Now his excitement for something he didn't even know existed was justified as this saber is awesome! For a family who can swim in Blade Builder Sabers from the last 5 years, this was an incredible upgrade to our saber arsenal. Today is the start of Lucasfilm's latest advertising campaign entitled Mando Mondays! After premiering last fall and quickly taking the world by storm, The Mandalorian — which took home seven awards last week during the 2020 Primetime Emmy Awards — will return for its highly anticipated second season Friday, October 30, on Disney+. But first, fans will have access to select pre-orders on new products inspired by the hit Lucasfilm series. Today we received word from Hasbro that Gamestop's latest Gaming Greats figures went up for preorder. The two new exclusive Black Series figures include Jedi Knight Revan and Darth Nihilus. While Jedi Knight Revan has been knowing for some time now, Darth Nihilus was a surprise. The Gaming Greats continues to be a source for 6" collectors to obtain popular Expanded Universe AKA Legends characters. Darth Nihilus, like Darth Revan, has been released previously in the 3 3/4" scale but Jedi Knight Revan is exclusive now to the 6" line.
