Wave 1 (Released May 2012)
In 2012, during Star Wars Weekends Disney launched a park exclusive line of Build-a-Droid figures in which they used, with permission, the same molds previously sculpted by Hasbro for their The Legacy Collection line. Although unlike Hasbro’s Droid Factory series, this line only featured astromech droids. To begin the line Disney released 15 different domes, 12 different bodies and 4 different hats in their first wave.
- R2 Domes (5 versions)
- R3 Domes (1 version)
- R4 Domes (3 versions)

The multicolored Mickey Ears were “inspired” from Star Tours’ 2010 exclusive Jedi Mickey and R2-MK (who was not a Build-a-Droid) set. The only difference between the two is that R2-MK’s Mickey Ears do not have a peg inside to keep it in place as it was not based on the Build-a-Droid mold.

- R2-D2 – The Superstar of the Star Wars Saga.
- R7-C4 – Created by Disney Product Designer Cody Hampton as a tribute to Commander Cody.

Wave 1 (April 2015)
In 2015, Disney decided to once again revisit the Droid Factory concept. The first wave of a new series was released during Star Wars Celebration Anaheim and consisted of entirely new Astromech bodies. As explained by the Disney representatives onsite, Disney purchased the rights to the Droid Factory and Build-a-Droid name and concept from Hasbro to use in the parks. To this end, Disney sculpted the molds themselves and designed them to be fully compatible with the previous series. They feature a significantly different sculpt than Hasbro’s Droid Factory bucks and are less screen accurate than their predecessors. The domes, however, are not new sculpts and are reused and repainted from the previous line.

The later part of the droid’s name, TN0 is a play on Tano. This droid is also based in a Kiros, a planet which appeared in the 4th season episode “Kidnapped”, in which the Jedi, including Ahsoka, worked to liberate members of her own species.

Halloween Droid Set (August 2022)
All different types of droids populate the Star Wars galaxy. Each is different and had their own unique personality and colors. These four droid figures have returned for a spooky celebration.
May the Force be with you…and your Droids!
Much like the Holiday Droid set which came out previously, Disney choose to allow new fans a chance to get Halloween droids from the past while taking advantage of rereleasing previous characters. Now unlike the Holiday set, only two of the four droids received an accessory update in the form of a new bat hat. R2-B00 and R5-B0019 were given a hat but there are other differences in this set from the original droids. R3-Boo17 is a darker shade of green translucent with the original one from 2017 being much brighter. R4-B0018’s only different is a red stripe that runs down the front and back of the middle-leg which was not present in 2018. And the glow-in-the-dark paint used on R5-B0019 appears more obvious in the set and glows much brigher than the original.

R7-FNG was released in conjunction with the Halloween droid set in typical far advance of the October holiday. This is the second Halloween droid to stray from the B00 naming convention. The droid is meant to resemble a vampire which is fitting since it is placed on Exegol, home of the unliving. His name is clearly in reference to a vampire’s fangs. This droid has the honor of being the absolute only 3 3/4″ figure released by Disney or Hasbro from The Rise of Skywalker’s planet Exegol.

It is surprising this figure did not include one of the two different versions of Mikey’s wizard hat that have been released in the Droid Factory line over the years.
- C1 Domes (1 version)

Disney for this Holiday season went all out by releasing an Advent calendar which contained a different droid part for each day of the season. The calendar contained 25 different doors to open and each piece was included in a numbered bag. Each droid had deco to represent a Christmas theme or character. For example, the CB droid is a Christmas tree decoration, C1 and R6 are Santa elves, EG and R4 are presents and R5 is a Nutcracker. This set was released at the same time as R6-SNO and includes, mostly likely due to a copy and paste error, part of his information on the back of the packaging.
