Who Will be the Next Vintage Collection Figure Announced?

So far with the return of The Vintage Collection line, Hasbro has taken the same course of action they began with Wal*Mart’s exclusive Black Series 3 ¾” line which began in 2015. They are weaving in an equal number of reissued figures in order to keep new figure tooling costs down. So far to date, Hasbro has announced figures through next Summer in their The Vintage Collection line but they have not revealed every figure though. For a full list of these releases look here. In order to speculate which figures may soon be announced, we have done some comparison work between the 3 3/4" Black Series line and The Vintage Collection both past, present and future. Now for many of the reissued figures in the upcoming TVC waves, [...]

How to Finish Hasbro’s Force Link 2.0 SOLO Figure Line!

Now that Solo: A Star Wars Story has been released on Digital Download (which we have already watched twice) we can’t help but to speculate about what Hasbro will offer fans of the film over next 14 months! With some key characters from the film still missing in the 3 ¾” line, Hasbro has time before the Episode IX onslaught of merchandising takes place to really finish out the Force Link 2.0 line completely, which is something they haven’t had a chance to do with the four previous Disney-era films. This is, of course, understandable due to the pace of motion picture content Lucasfilm is currently putting out but with this break in media (pending next month’s Star Wars: Resistance series doesn’t commandeer store shelves) Hasbro [...]

Editorial: Stop Toying with Vintage Kenner-Themed Products

In 2018, products featuring Kenner’s vintage Star Wars action figure line have become quite popular. Everything from backpacks, shot glasses, greeting cards, calendars, and posters have appeared at various retailers both domestically and internationally. While these items are very welcomed and have the potential to strike many a nostalgic feel with longtime fans, it is their gross ignorance of the brand that makes many of these items a laughing matter more than a desirable purchase. Many of the offending products use the same stock figure photos which first appeared a few years ago on the Topps Collectible Card Trader app. The problem begins here as some figures either have no or include the wrong accessories. More recent products have taken these images and applied them [...]

Fan Expo Canada 2018 Recap

This past weekend Hasbro held a panel for the third time this Summer in North America. At Fan Expo Canada in Toronto, Hasbro revealed two new additions for their popular action figure lines. The panel featured Hasbro talent; Andrea Demiaco, Sam Smith, and Steven Gilbert. The first reveal was that Captain Phasma will be joining The Vintage Collection. Hasbro has provided us press images for each of the new reveals. Now Phasma is a reissue from the Wal*Mart's 3 3/4" Black Series exclusive version and will be on card number #142. The back of the card also provides an additional reveal as Chewbacca is listed on the back of the card in his Original Trilogy accessories. The second reveal was a part of The Black [...]

Star Wars: Resistance First Look Thoughts

Today Entertainment Weekly and Starwars.com released a behind the scenes featurette on the upcoming Star Wars: Resistance. Meet Team Fireball - Star Wars Resistance on Disney Video This series which is a design departure from previous Star Wars animated projects is set to be geared toward younger audiences. The style is self-admittedly anime based and feels a lot like Netflix's Voltron series. The series which is set in the time leading up to The Force Awakens appears to feature a lot of great new ships, unique droids, and Original Trilogy aliens. We are very excited about all of these elements as they lend themselves well to becoming toys (very toyetic). As ships have not been a huge priority for Hasbro of late, we can [...]
