So far with the return of The Vintage Collection line, Hasbro has taken the same course of action they began with Wal*Mart’s exclusive Black Series 3 ¾” line which began in 2015. They are weaving in an equal number of reissued figures in order to keep new figure tooling costs down. So far to date, Hasbro has announced figures through next Summer in their The Vintage Collection line but they have not revealed every figure though. For a full list of these releases look here. In order to speculate which figures may soon be announced, we have done some comparison work between the 3 3/4″ Black Series line and The Vintage Collection both past, present and future.
Now for many of the reissued figures in the upcoming TVC waves, Hasbro has pulled most of them straight from Wal*Mart’s Black Series line. Below we have divided up and placed every figure produced in the Wal*Mart line into one of three categories below. We have also noted if that figure has appeared on a vintage cardback to date and the figure’s number.
CATEGORY #1: Figures from Wal*Mart’s exclusive 2015-2017 Black Series line which were reissues from the original Vintage Collection line:

CATEGORY #3: There are currently 3 slots in their announced so far 2019 Vintage Collection line which has yet to be revealed. If Hasbro continues to be predictable, they will select 3 figures from Wal*Mart’s exclusive Black Series line that have yet to appear on vintage cards. The seven potential options are as follows:
- Finn (Jakku)
- First Order Stormtrooper Executioner
- General Leia Organa (The Force Awakens)
- Han Solo (The Force Awakens)
- Poe Dameron
- Princess Leia Organa (A New Hope)
- Resistance Tech Rose
We are placing our bets on First Order Stormtrooper Executioner because this gets more use out of a basic FO Stormtrooper tooling and makes for a great army builder. Next, we feel Hasbro is still in the mindset to honor the later Carrie Fisher by rereleasing the ceremonial Princess Leia. Plus this Original Trilogy version was never produced in the Kenner-era. And finally, Han Solo from Starkiller Base would be a smart choice as interest in the character has increased since the release of Solo: A Star Wars Story.
