The Black Series – Checklists and Pocket Guides

We have added two new checklists to our Collecting Resources page.  The Black Series, now entering its second iteration with its new TIE Fighter Pilot motif and use of blue and no longer orange in its packaging, has been added to our database.  Also new with these two is our debut of the Pocket Guide.  The Pocket Guide is our attempt to give you a checklist that is both printer friendly and presented on one page for a fairly easy and low-tech way to track your collection on the go. 2013 The Black Series 2014 The Black Series Pocket-Guide We are currently hard at work at updating and completing checklists from the more recent lines so look for more updates and additions in the weeks ahead.  But [...]

Rebels Review: Mission Series – The Ghost (Toys ‘R’ Us Exclusive)

Our second Rebels Review focuses on Toys ‘R’ Us’ newest action figure exclusive.  Technically part of the Mission Series line which began in Hasbro’s recent Saga Legends line, this set defies some of the basic characteristics that have come to define a Mission Series set.  This set comes boxed and includes three figures, whereas previous non-exclusive sets have come packaged to be hung on pegs and only include two figures. This set also includes a gimmick which Hasbro has never done in its action figure line before. The package has a secondary title “Reveal the Rebels: Jedi Reveal” and includes a blacked-out window that includes a “Secret Exclusive Figure Inside”. Where this is fun for kids to not know who the hidden figure [...]

Rebels Review: AT-DP (All Terrain Defense Pod)

Toys 'R' Us has followed Target's lead in resetting their toy aisles for the holiday season with a heavy Star Wars presence. In fact they have taken it one step further and devoted a whole feature area to the upcoming series Star Wars Rebels as well.  With their soon to be released Mission Series exclusive Toys 'R' Us has clearly embraced the new direction of Star Wars and so it only makes sense that have become the first to release Rebels action figure product.  The first wave of the "Class II Attack Vehicles" consists of two Imperial vehicles and one Rebel vehicle and have been previously advertised for release in October.  A weekend toy run resulted in us finding this wave and they have left us with excited and [...]

Question of the Day: Cardbacks or Cash

Would you love it or hate it if Hasbro mimicked the Kenner promo of cutting up your action figure cardbacks for cash? Would this promotion actually get some collectors to buy additional figures today? At what refund price would opening and cutting out the cardback become worth it? What promos would you like to see Hasbro run with its Episode VII or future The Black Series lines? We'd love to know what you think! You can contact us by email at 4LOMKUSS@gmail.com or on our official Facebook and Twitter pages.

The Hobby Hall’s Star Wars Collections

Each year the Washington State Fair (known as the Puyallup Fair to locals) plays host to the collections of a handful of collectors.  From everything from bottle caps to Batmobiles, PEZ dispensers to playing cards; if someone has ever collected it, there’s a good chance it’s been featured at the Washington State Fair.  The Hobby Hall is where collectors of all ages have their collectibles staged for the two and half-week run of the fair. Collections are selected by a committee and vary by size.  This year, fans of vintage and modern toys had many displays to fawn over but the coolest (and yes we are very biased here at From 4-LOM to Zuckuss) was the vintage Ewok collection. This fantastic collection of Ewok paraphernalia [...]

Speculative Star Wars Rebels & Ep VII Figures

Last week's reveal of Toys 'R' Us' upcoming Star Wars Rebels Mission Series exclusive The Ghost, featuring a holographic Obi-Wan Kenobi, prompted us to revisit Dan Curto's leaked Rebels photo from earlier this year.  Now with the knowledge gained from Hasbro's San Diego Comic-Con presentation, we are fairly certain we can speculate about the numbering of and wave assortment of the upcoming Rebels figures. We know from online pre-sales that the first case available will include 12 different figures.  The first six being from the new animated series with the rest pulling from the previously released Saga Legends figures. We have 'X'd' out the figures that have been officially announced from Hasbro and color-coded them to match the photo's wave color-code.  Basic Figures - Wave [...]
