Hasbro’s Fan Figure Vote Round-Up

Last week during Star Wars Celebration Orlando, Hasbro asked a few dozen Star Wars action figure blogs, websites, Instagramers and podcasters to host the first round of nominations for this year’s Fan Figure Vote. The nominations were cast for the figure fans would most like to see created in 3 ¾” scale and included in next year’s return of The Vintage Collection. The nomination process closed last Wednesday with the results needing to be submitted to Hasbro by midday last Friday. Most sites, including From4-LOMtoZuckuss.com, published their top six nominations which were chosen by fan submission this past weekend. Unbeknownst to most, this year’s first-round voting process would spark some controversy with several sites due to the characters their listeners/readers/followers nominated. Unhappy with the large [...]

And the 1st Round Winners are…

The results of our first round of voting for the 2017 Star Wars Fan Figure 3 3/4" vote are in.  Fans and collectors have flooded us with nominations for the character they want most to be turned into a super-articulated figure included in this Spring's return of The Vintage Collection! The six finalist submitted by fans since Saturday's announcement at Hasbro's panel at Star Wars Celebration include: Ben Skywalker Now if you have been active on social media this week you have probably been witness to the frustration that many longtime collectors are having to the numerous nominations for Ben Skywalker, a novel character from the now defunct Expanded Universe. This particular Skywalker earned no less than 25% of our votes and appears to have a [...]

How to Make New TFA Han Solo Figures

If you are anything like us we are extremely impatient for more figures of Original Trilogy characters that appeared in The Force Awakens (ahem Luke). Well with a little seed planted courtesy one of our favorite customizers, Colin Hobbs, we quickly jumped on the opportunity to do it ourselves. Whether it was intentional or coincidence, the good folks over at Hasbro made the new Han Solo figure's jacket removable. Now what's great about this is this allows anyone who owns the Han Solo (Echo Base Outfit) from 2010's The Vintage Collection to create a few new The Force Awakens versions of the late smuggler. The browns of the jackets are a near match thus making a simple jacket switch invaluable to those seeking to add to their [...]

DarthMac’s Customs & Collection

This week I had the great pleasure of viewing Chris Moorehead’s home action figure display. He has just in the past few years begun creating a displayed collection despite collecting as a child and beginning anew with the modern line around 2005. He, like many collectors born in the 70’s and early 80’s, only collects Original Trilogy figures and I had the privilege of being only the second person to view his newly organized collection.  Chris has a great and purposeful display of both vintage and modern Star Wars figures.  What makes his collection really stand out is the amazing custom display pieces he has created.  Those who are active on forums at sites like Rebelscum.com, where he is better known has High Admiral “DarthMac”, [...]

Kenner TIEs, ITTs and Cooling Fins in Star Wars Rebels!

We couldn't be more excited for Star Wars Rebels especially in regards to this early morning's debut of the extended trailer! Its fantastic to hear Jonathan Arnold Taylor back as Obi-Wan Kenobi and to see such Original Trilogy influences. But by far the most exciting thing for us about Rebels is the use of Kenner action figure line designs. In this trailer it is easy to make out the Kenner TIE Fighter ascetic as it has the smaller Solor Panels which the vintage toy company went with to keep costs down. Also featured are the "cooling fins" which Kenner featured on its Stormtrooper's E-11 blaster accessory. And finally, although not shown in the trailer but found in the just released Star Wars Rebels [...]
