2005’s Sydney White’s Kenner Figures

One of our favorite pastimes beyond collecting Star Wars action figures is hunting down their various appearances in the media (which we collect in our Lights! Camera! Action (Figure)! database). This week we have recently discovered the 2005 PG-13 teen comedy starring Amanda Bynes, Sydney White, features a smattering of Kenner action figures. The modern telling of Cinderella told through college pledges includes a band of college misfits who, when playing cards, gamble with action figures. One of the lines featured prominently on the card table are vintage Star Wars figures. In addition to a carded The Power of the Force Endor Luke, various other figures can be seen including a mail away vintage Cobra Commander and a pair of Jedi from Hasbro's Unleashed Battle Packs series. Marvel Taps Hasbro for Comic Art

This past week Starwars.com announced a new limited series starring the Dark Lord of Sith. Star Wars: Darth Vader - Dark Visions, which begins in March of next year, includes a cover image of Vader mounted atop a creature and brandishing his lightsaber and an Imperial shield. What is exciting about this art is his shield featuring the Imperial cog which was done by Hasbro in 2005. During their Revenge of the Sith line, Hasbro introduced a very short-lived series, geared to younger kids, called Force Battlers. These 6"ish figures, were more stylized in design and included action features. Dork Side of the Force Interview

Galaxy of Adventures Press Release & Images

Hasbro, once again in coordination with Lucasfilm, has sent to us a press release and images of the new Star Wars: Galaxy of Adventures figures which we provided a first look at earlier this week. Included are images and info about Wave Two which we correctly predicted will be released closer to Easter in the Spring. The Star Wars: Galaxy of Adventures shorts (in which these figures are inspired from) debuted this morning on the new Star Wars Kids YouTube channel. Micro Force WOW! – Press Release

Hasbro's squishy-miniature line of figures continues this holiday season with a series of blind packaged tubes, entitled Micro Force WOW! In what is sure to be a hit for Wal*Mart shoppers looking for stocking stuffers, this line will cease being a Wal*Mart exclusive in the new year. This latest wave of Micro Force includes Star Wars stickers and the very first Star Wars: Resistance merchandise by Hasbro and just about any manufacturer. First Look – Galaxy of Adventures Figures

Hot on the heels of this morning's announcement, Star Wars: Galaxy of Adventures figures have been found at Wal*Mart stores across the country. Galaxy of Adventures is a series of animated shorts based off of audio from the Star Wars motion pictures. The first six shorts are set to debut this Friday, November 30th, on the new Star Wars Kids YouTube channel. Thanks to our friends at Yakface.com, we were successful with an after work toy run to our local Wal*Mart. The figures are not being stocked in the toy aisles but instead in shippers or PDQs at the end of the toy aisles. With the Christmas season now underway comes the potential of new Star Wars action figures appearances in films and on television.
