Finally Mini-Rigs Get Some Love!

Redbubble.com now has for sale their "Kennerverse - Collect them All!" merchandise.  This fantastic design depicts the old Kenner logo created out of silhouettes of vintage era Star Wars action figure vehicles and playsets.  The most frequently used silhouettes are those of Kenner's Mini-Rig line which consisted of original concept vehicles Kenner created for extra and cheaper play value for kids. To be the envy of all your friends, click pic to head to Redbubble and get your own (our T-shirts are on the way!).

In 1996 Kenner Ships Ruled the Card Art Modeling World

Inspired by the latest episode of the Galaxy of Toys Podcast, 4LOMKUSS.COM tracked down a set of Topps' 1996 Shadows of the Empire card set.  This 90-card set was entirely painted by The Brothers Hildebrandt who were no strangers to Star Wars as they created the original A New Hope movie poster.  Topps has created many iconic card sets over the years but what makes this set special to us here at From 4-LOM to Zuckuss, is it's obvious use of vintage Kenner vehicles.  One can tell by the detail and portions of these ships that the Hildebrandts for many of their cards used the action figure toys as reference.  Although by 1996 Kenner/Hasbro had alreadybegun making modern Star Wars toys, they had yet to [...]

Dave Filoni The New Toy Hunter!?!

On the June 21st episode of RebelForce Radio, host and mega fan Jimmy Mac sat down with supervising director of both Star Wars: The Clone Wars and the in-production Star Wars Rebels, Dave Filoni.  During the interview Mac, being a Star Wars action figure aficionado, asked Filoni to elaborate on his brief video discussion with Lucasfilm’s Pablo Hildalgo about a certain vintage action figure vehicle.  The video was a behind the scenes look at the development of Rebels and in the video Filoni is seen holding a vintage TIE Fighter and saying to Hildalgo, “ten dollars”.  The Emmy winning director revealed to RFR that he had purchased the vehicle still in the box with its sticker sheets from an antique store for $10.  Not only [...]

Fan Club Mags’ July Action Figure Content!

Titan Magazines, publisher of the official Star Wars fan club magazines, features action figure content in both of their most recent releases.  In issue 142 (July 2013) of the Star Wars Insider an amazing action figure display is featured in their "Bantha Tracks" section.  The Leffrew family has artistically created a beautiful and playable Star Wars action figure display. Star Wars: The Clone Wars Magazine includes an offer for a free Star Wars action figure.  In issue 18 (July/August 2013) the offer states that with a year's subscription to the magazine for $26.99, you will receive a free Star Wars: The Clone Wars figure at a $9.99 value.  As only loose pics of TCW figures are pictured, it's unclear as to what TCW series these  figures will be [...]

Slave 1 – A Paint Job You’ll Pay 210% More For!

This week Amazon has put up for pre-sell two highly anticipated vehicles from The Vintage Collection; TIE Interceptor Vehicle and Slave 1 Boba Fett's Spaceship.  This marks Amazon's first foray into selling exclusive Star Wars Hasbro action figure toys.  Now after seeing the price tags attached to these sets, it lead us to wonder if the retail internet giant needs to seek advice from someone at Target or Toys 'R' Us in relation to their pricing schemes.  To make our point we have compared the price breakdown of The Rise of Boba Fett Slave 1 from a few years ago with its newest repaint incarnation in form of Amazon's The Vintage Collection Slave 1.   2010 - The Clone Wars: The Rise of Boba Fett Ultimate Battle Packs $110 pricetag -$8 [...]

The Black Series to Debut Over the Pond!

UK website Jedi News has just announced their exclusive plans in partnership with Hasbro to Launch The Black Series.  This event is set to take place on July 19th, at a Toys 'R' Us in London and will also feature exclusive "First Day of Issue" cardbacks.  With no word of "First Day of Issue" cards being released anywhere else it appears that the very first figures released from The Black Series could very well end up being the rarest.  Now Hasbro has attempted "First Day of Issue" stickers before on The Legacy Collection and The Clone Wars series but however these were mass produced and eventually became pegwarmers.  The Black Series will have a significant advantage due to the exclusivity of this event and will [...]
