San Diego Comic-Con International has released their programming schedules for their upcoming convention and Friday, July 19th is what we have been waiting for. Hasbro, Inc. will be holding their annual Star Wars toy panel from 1 pm to 2 pm on the 19th. This panel is typically a great source for information and previews of upcoming action figure related toys. SDCC’s official description of the panel is as follows:
“Members of the Hasbro brand and design team, including Derryl DePriest (VP, global brand marketing), Jeff Labovitz (director, global brand marketing), discuss the popular Hasbro StarWars and Angry Birds Star Wars line. Attendees will also get a sneak peek at upcoming action figures. Derryl, Jeff, and team will also host a Q&A for your burning StarWars action figure questions!”
Now Hasbro usually puts on display many of their upcoming figures for viewing during SDCC’s preview night which will take place this year on July 17th. This is a great chance to get some detailed and up-close looks in Hasbro’s booth (#3213 according to their schedule) of new and yet-to-be-released items and potentially pick up some freebies in the form of posters, card backs, coins, etc. What is important to remember is to check back after Hasbro’s presentation on the 19th as they have in the past kept some items back until they had finished their panel.
Also important to note is that this year Hasbro is located directly next to Lucasfilm, Ltd. (booth #2913). They are also located directly across from HasbroToyShop.com (booth #3329) but unfortunately there is no 3 3/4 inch Star Wars exclusive this year which Hasbro Toy Shop has offered in the past.
