Since the release of The Force Awakens, Hasbro has quietly released a small series of 6″ value figures in primarily international and discount store markets. These figures which we have profiled in the past, include around 4POA (points of articulation) and can be found between $6-8 each. These figures often do not receive much publicity and tend to be quietly released. Each movie released following TFA received a wave of figures and in some cases a few under scaled vehicles as well up through The Last Jedi…or so we thought. Recently new images have surfaced to show that a wave for Solo was indeed produced and more recently a new wave featuring new packaging has appeared as well.
Thanks to Jayson over at Yakface.com we learned about a month ago of a value TIE Fighter vehicle that has been found just this year in the UK.
This piece was found by Instagram user UK Star Wars in late October. This vehicle is in line with the value ships released for Rogue One and The Last Jedi. To our knowledge, this vehicle has never reached the states nor anywhere outside of the UK to date.
Then just two weeks ago another Brit Andy Davies came across a wave of value figures in new packaging.
Now based on what has been released in the past, all of these with the exception of Chewbacca are reissues. Chewie is clearly based on his appearance from Solo: A Star War Story but there was never a Solo series released…or so we thought.
Our good friend Matt Booker of Fantha Tracks let us know that he had seen at a Han Solo in Solo packaging (pictured below) at a UK Trade Show for clearance and discount toys but had never seen one in stores.
It was then that Richard Mitchell also of Fantha Tracks, shared with us his recent find from in the UK.
According to Mitchell, these were the only two figures in Solo packaging making these two extremely rare for those collecting this line…or so we thought.
Just last week another good friend of ours Paul Van Dyk sent word that he just discovered a Solo figure in his hometown in Canada.
It appears despite Solo being released 18 months ago, these forgotten and/or lost figures are still making their way to retail in different markets around the world. This then brings up the question, will Hasbro release a new wave or a couple of figures from The Rise of Skywalker. We are now seeing this reissue wave but will the Big H make a new Finn, Rey or Poe in the limited line?
We do know that Hasbro’s extremely limited-articulation 3 3/4″ figures have begun to hit Five Below but the four figures released in that series do not originate from The Rise of Skywalker.
