Hasbro has reached out to us to let us know the winner of their Instagram Black Series Fan Vote: We are thrilled to announce the results of the Star Wars: The Black Series 6-Inch figure Fan Vote, in celebration of Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back 40th Anniversary. The winner is Luke Skywalker (Dagobah)! Despite Wedge and Lobot showing strong numbers in both the fan site vote and at different stages in the final vote, Luke was declared the winner by Hasbro. We have reason to believe Wedge is currently in the works and headed to The Black Series line sooner than later so this will give the Star Wars sculptors something new to work on and release in 12-18 months. The Final ESB 6″ Fan Vote

The final vote for which figure from The Empire Strikes Back fans would like to see released in The Black Series line is now live on HasbroPulse's Instagram page. The vote will be open for just a few days and will close on Friday, March 8th. Hasbro’s Empire Strikes Back Fan Figure Vote

At this weekend's Toy Fair Entertainment Brand Preview event, Hasbro announced that they will be celebrating the 40th Anniversary of Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back. In anticipation of the anniversary happening next year,  Hasbro is letting fans decide which Star Wars character they would like to see added to The Black Series line. Starting today, Tuesday, 2/19, you'll be able to cast your vote on which Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back character you would like to be seen made into a 6-inch figure. Behind the Scenes Video on Hasbro’s Photo Real

Insider has an inside look at "How Hasbro Makes Action Figures Look Just Like Movie Stars." This gives us a look at how the artists create the new lifelike face sculpts for Hasbro's Marvel Legends and Star Wars: The Black Series lines. It is interesting that they choose to reference a 1995 Power of the Force figure for their comparison figure. That figure is almost 25 years old! They also do not mention in the video that this process is also used in The Vintage Collection 3 3/4" line but nonetheless, it is a fascinating look at who Hasbro has achieved the Photo Real process.
