Rebels and Hasbro debuts now on The Collector’s Calendar

With today's announcement that the one-hour Star Wars Rebels: Spark of Rebellion movie will be released on multiple formats over a handful of dates at the beginning of October we have performed a major update on The Collector's Calendar. Updates include Hasbro figure release schedules from San Diego Comic-Con, all Star Wars Rebels shorts and premiere dates, Del Rey's novel (canon) and Marvel Comic's comic book (canon) release schedules. Final SDCC ’14 Update: The Hasbro Giveaway

Thanks to our good friend and San Diego Comic-Con correspondent, Ryan Beise, for hooking us up with Hasbro's only 3 3/4" related exclusive from the con this year.  This poster was given away at Hasbro's Booth in the exhibit hall and highlights the upcoming animated series 5POA action figure line from Star Wars Rebels. Hasbro, who has created action figure posters in the past, choose to share some love with their other toy lines based on Rebels as well.  As convention giveaways go this is pretty lackluster but we can be patient this year as next year is sure to include plenty of figure and figure-related exclusives and promotions at both Celebration Anaheim and SDCC '15. New Hasbro Toys use Vintage Kenner Designs!

Last Toy Fair Pablo Hidalgo made it clear that the new animated series Star Wars Rebels would be using some of Kenner's original action figure designs.  He even pointed out that Stormtrooper blasters in the show would sport the extra "fins" found on the barrel of Kenner's 3 3/4" version of the weapon.  But what he didn't tell us was that the actually Kenner design (which is much different than the blaster seen in the films and in Rebels) would also be used in the series.  Hasbro's newest toy line Star Wars Command, which is meant to recapture green army men playtime, depicts the Kenner Stormtrooper blaster on its Imperial Officers figurines. New Toys, Videos & Displays but no Figures

Targets across the country have completed their "fall resets" (where they rearrange their aisles to make room for new merch and toy lines) and in the process vastly improved the Star Wars presence in their toy aisles. By adding large and impressive signage and new Star Wars Rebels, 6" The Black Series, Jaxx's 20" figures and Star Wars Command products they are geared up for bringing Star Wars to many a Christmas tree this winter.  But with this increased presence, not a new 3 3/4" figure is to be found. Tonight’s Disney XD Star Wars Line-Up

Don't forget that tonight the Disney XD Channel will be wishing, "May the Monday be with You" with a series of Star Wars themed episodes. Things get started with a Star Wars dream sequence episode of "Kickin It" at 7/6c. Then an encore presentation (and the Disney XD premiere) of Phineas and Ferb Star Wars at 7:30/6:30c. And finally a 15 minute "First Look" of Star Wars Rebels (which is rumored to included the first 7 minutes of the series) at 8:45/7:45c. From 4-LOM to Zuckuss  had the chance to sit down with the Hasbro Star Wars Brand Team for a brief Q & A session at San Diego Comic-Con.  Ryan Beise, also of Galaxy of Toys  and Star Wars: Collecting Cosmos  podcasts, chatted with Bill Rawley and Jeff Labovitz about what we can and cannot look forward to from Hasbro in the next year and sadly Episode VII  was not up for discussion.
