SDCC 2019 Hasbro Press Release & Images

Hasbro has provided us with official images and information from the 2019 San Diego Comic-Con Star Wars panel. The Panel was surprising light on reveals. They previewed the fan vote winner Luke Dagobah which is still in development, introduced a new scale of 5" Galaxy of Adventures figures and showed nor spoke of any new 3.75" figures at all. We are fearing for the future of the 3 3/4" line but our figures are crossed that Tripel Force Friday will ease our nerves with The Rise of Skywalker action figure line. HASBRO STAR WARS SDCC PANEL REVEALS 2019 ONE SHEET STAR WARS GALAXY OF ADVENTURES 5-INCH Figure Assortment (HASBRO/Ages 4 years & up/Approx. Retail Price: Starting at $9.99/Available: Fall 2019) STAR WARS fans new and [...]

SDCC 2019 – The Hasbro Booth

As we prepare for Hasbro's Star Wars panel, which begins today at 2 PM PST, we can't help but pour over the images from Hasbro's booth this year in anticipation. Hasbro once again impresses with the sheer amount of product and displays including a very impressive Sarlacc and Jabba's Palace diorama. Now our friends over at Rebelscum have inquired about that many of the "new" figures in the Jabba's Palace dio, which include  6" versions of the Rancor, 8D8, EV-99, Gonk droid, and even a tortured 2-1B droid, and as of now it appears they are all customs for the display. But as fans recall the Trash Compactor Luke was also considered a custom in a previous Hasbro display until a year later he was [...]

Final Chance to Back The Vintage Collection Archive Edition Book

We are just over a day away from the ending of the Kickstarter initiative to fund Star Wars: The Vintage Collection Archive Edition Book. The campaign has been wildly successful as it has in the last 44 days, not only funded but met nine out of ten stretch goals. It currently is less than $8,000 away from achieving its tenth, which would be a digital version of the book. Currently, backers will not only get a book chock-full of additional content due to the stretch goals being met but they will also receive a folio set of the chapter break images, a three coin set, and an updated version of Kenner's Star Wars is Forever poster (shown below) created by the original photographer Kim Simmons. [...]

Attendees of San Deigo Comic-Con next week will be treated to a sneak preview figure from The Rise of Skywalker! New Galaxy of Adventure Ads

In what is almost a page out of Hasbro's #GoRogue campaign, there are a few new Star Wars action figure stop-motion sponsored ads that have surfaced on social media. The "commercials" are produced by HelloSociety which specializes in social media influencing, and appear to be made on the behalf of Wal*Mart. The Galaxy of Adventures line is now in its third wave and appears to be what Hasbro and their partnered retailers are currently focusing on until this Fall when Triple Force Friday hits in October.   While it is unclear as to how many of these ads are out there, the Boba Fett one is aptly timed as the Boba Fett episode of Galaxy of Adventures on Star Wars Kids just premiered one week [...]

Vintage Kenner Figures in Toy Story 4

This past weekend, Toy Story 4 made its debut and so did the animated versions of two of our favorite vintage Kenner action figures! As we discussed earlier this year, Walrus Man and Ben "Obi-Wan" Kenobi from 1978 are featured in the latest addition to the Toy Story franchise. SPOILER WARNING: While their appearance is very brief it is reminiscent of their encounter in the Mos Eisley Cantina. When Woody enlists his old sweetheart Bo in a mission to recover his Bonnie's new "toy" Forky, they visit a pinball machine which acts like a speakeasy club for lost toys. On their way to recruit Duke Kaboom they past a dismembered Zebra plush who sits next to Old Ben and Panda Boba reenacting their first interaction. In [...]

Star Wars Celebration Anaheim 2020

UPDATE:  All 4-Day pass sold out in about an hour! Star Wars fever is high! Even though Star Wars Celebration Anaheim is 432 days away, tickets for the Star Wars mega-con went on sale this morning. Most were in queue for longer than usual which reinforces the ideas that despite what some about Disney's take over of the franchise, Star Wars is as popular as ever with fans! So popular that according to the LA Times, 65,000 fans attended Celebration this past April in Chicago. After 41 minutes in a virtual queue (with a student assigned each period to watch my computer as it is the last day of school) we were able to make our purchase. In shock to no one, the $900 Jedi Master [...]
