2014 the Year of 58

As 2014 comes to a close Hasbro will be shutting the books on their 19th year of producing Star Wars action figures.  It goes without saying that 2014, although better than 2013, was not a banner year for the toy producer’s Star Wars line. Distribution problems still existed, product offerings were very light, advertisement was minimal and public “collector” opinion about their 5 points of articulation didn’t improve. But despite these criticisms, Hasbro continued a long tradition of giving children, fans and collectors some great Star Wars toys to play with and collect! Now to hear which figure and vehicle we specially liked (and disliked) the best from 2014, you’ll need to make sure to listen to Episode 37 of Galaxy of Toys Podcast. While [...]

Merry X-Mas Eve

This may be one of the last non-centered Star Wars Christmases for a long while to come. So since we are expecting very little in the way of new Star Wars toys under the tree this year we thought we would cast a wist to Santa for a repeat of one of our favorite all-time Christmas gifts! Merry Christmas Eve everyone and remember, “When you care to send the very best – you say it with Star Wars action figures!” Click the pic for more Holiday Greetings! And May the Figures be with you!

Galaxy of Toys’ Exclusive Interview with Mark Bellomo

This week Jason and the hosts of Galaxy of Toys Podcast had a chance to speak with author Mark Bellomo about his new Star Wars action figure guide. Last month saw the release of Bellomo's The Ultimate Guide to Vintage Star Wars Action Figures 1977-1985 which sold out of its first printing and just begun its second. The Return of Yoda! Who’s Next?

Yesterday it was announced that Yoda and his original voice would be returning to Star Wars. Now Yoda himself was seen just earlier this year in Netflix's Star Wars: The Clone Wars - The Lost Missions dealing with some heavy issues but his original voice is another story.  In a surprise move, Frank Oz who voiced the diminutive Jedi Master in The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi will be once again providing his voice in January 5th's episode of Star Wars Rebels according to TVGuide.com.  An appearance in Rebels would be the character’s first official or canonical appearance since his self-imposed exile to Dagobah at the end of Revenge of the Sith. This will be the third actor from the Original Trilogy to reprise their role on the new series.  James [...]

Countdown ’till The Force Awakens

Today Entertainment Weekly posted an exclusive with Lucasfilm to reveal the names of the characters from The Force Awakens teaser trailer. This seriously increased our anticipation for seeing these figures in plastic in the coming year. Now that these characters are being named we can only feel that they will be the ones (if any) featured at February's New York Toy Fair.  Either that or we could very well be seeing these as possible Sneak Preview wave of figures released sometime in the summer.  To see the rest of the images with captions which were presented in vintage Topps trading card style, head on over to EW.com. To add further to our excitement for the release of Episode VII we want to thank Tomas Lundholm from Leia's [...]
