This week Jason and the hosts of Galaxy of Toys Podcast had a chance to speak with author Mark Bellomo about his new Star Wars action figure guide. Last month saw the release of Bellomo’s The Ultimate Guide to Vintage Star Wars Action Figures 1977-1985 which sold out of its first printing and just begun its second.

In Episode 36, Bellomo shares some great behind the scenes information about both the creation of the guide and his massive action figure collection. For those who are not familar with the super collector or have not had the pleasure of flipping through his GI Joe and Transformer figure guides, he has this to offer:

If you’re unfamiliar with my work, I suppose the aspects of my career that you need to know beyond  my various writing projects are delineated as follows: I own 120,000+ comics, 60,000+ action figures, I’ve been featured in an 18-part independent film The Collectable Spectacle, I’m currently constructing the largest action figure resource site in the world—one that includes [nearly] every action figure from 1964-present, and I also function as a pop culture consultant for print publications, auction houses, motion pictures, and television programs.

Bellomo’s book can be found at most book retailers and e-tailers and will appeal to both the collector and to fans of the old Expanded Universe. The author conducted extensive research in order to provide each entry with a its respective background in the Star Wars universe. For those wanting to add this to your collecting guide or reference book collections, Amazon currently has the book for $17.70 and the book’s publisher Krause Publications has it for $20.37.
