It’s Toy Fair time and the annual mid-winter toy showcase of what’s to come began this morning in New York City. As we’ve done in year’s past we’ll post all Star Wars action figure news and updates throughout the weekend and show.
Now leading up to this year’s Toy Fair a few reveals were made via a few other media outlets. A Star Wars Rebels version of Princess Leia was announced on usatoday.com in January. This figure will be apart of the current Build-a-Weapon line and according to USA Today will be available this fall.
Last week, mashable.com revealed Hasbro’s new InteracTech 12″ figure Stormtrooper figure. The figure includes over 70 sound effects including the Wilhelm Scream.
This past Thursday ew.com debuted a new multi-pack that will be featured at Toy Fair this weekend featuring the first Maz Kanata action figure.
The “Tokadata Encounter” set will include Finn, Rey, BB-8 and Maz as well as Maz’s lightsaber chest.
This morning Jedinews.co.uk reporting from Toy Fair posted that #ForceFriday will return this year to support Rogue One merchandise on September 30th. This once again puts fans getting in line late Thursday night which typically does not allow for this event to be attended by many children as its a school night thus solidifying this as a collector focused release.

Hasbro’s panel is set to take place at 1:30 EST so make sure to check back for updates. The site sirstevesguide.com appears to be liveblogging from the fair.
Ironically the Hasbro panel didnt get to Star Wars until 11:38 PST! The panel is hosted by Steve Evans Design Director and Andy Ochiltree Sr. Marketing Manager.
Shown during the presentation was the following figures from the Build-a-Weapon line:
- Princess Leia (Rebels)
- Kanan in Stormtrooper Gear (Rebels)
- Sabine with removable helmet (Rebels Season 2)
- Seventh Sister Inquisitor (Rebels)
- Shirtless Darth Maul (Rebels?)
- Mysterious Rebels Character?
The multi-pack Tokadana Encounter was shown as well.
For 6″ figures a who new wave or two were shown that included:
- Darth Revan
- Sabine Wren (Rebels Season One)
- Princess Leia (ANH with softgoods)
- Snowtrooper
- AT-AT Driver
Also mentioned that there will again be San Diego Comic-Con exclusive (much like last year’s FO Stormtrooper) but this time it will be from Rogue One.
