Those who have been following us on our socials know that this past summer has been filled with lots of travel and time spent away from the computer. But now that school is back in session and the weather is starting to turn, we are back in action and have loads of updates coming your way. We had a really fantastic summer that included lots of Star Wars and collecting adventures. Here is a quick rundown of what Jake got up the last few months:
Washington State Summer Con, at the premier convention which is more heavily Star Wars-themed then any other in the region, Jake interviewed Bo-Katan, The Armorer, Boba Fett, Boba Fett, Darth Maul and Thrawn’s father!
After a quick trip to Mexico (where no toys were to be found in the little village we stayed in) it was off to the Pacific Coast for for some family time!
We made it home from vacation just in time to take part in the last live Hasbro Q&A with the Star Wars Brand Team in which our session included a slip of the tongue about the upcoming Black Series HasLab.
We successfully were able to order each Star Wars figure from Wal-Mart’s Collector Con in late June!
Then it was off to the Oregon Coast for some crabbing Jaxxon with stops at The Goonies House, Gizmo’s Arcade, and The StarWarStore!
Upon our return home, we, with a little help from some friends, completed the full run of Prototype Retro Collection Boba Fetts!
Fired up the ol’ podcast mic and dropped a new episode with the gents of Galaxy of Toys all about the Vintage Ewoks line from Kenner!
Come August, it was time for Washington State Summer Con Again where Jake sat down with Hellboy and Moff Gideon himself! For a fantastic write up about both Summer Con events from this past Summer, check out this article on Star Wars Autograph News by Heather Ersatz, whom is also responsible for many of the great Summer Con photos from Jake’s panel such as those below!
Another trip led us North to near the Canadian border on Free Comic Book Day so we stopped into The Comics Place which had some custom vintage Kenner pieces on display.
It was then time to kick it with our good friends over at Yes Have Some Podcast on their The Bad Bitches YouTube show to celebrate the end of Season 1 on The Bad Batch! Always a blast chatting with them and thanks again to Abigail for the invite!
Next up, it was time to track down the latest Disney Parks Droid Factory figure, R5-W1CH! This figure represents this year’s Halloween-themed droid and sold out of Walt Disney World in its first weekend. Look for this droid to be added to our complete Droid Factory Visual guide this weekend.
And finally that brings us to the end of the summer which concluded with some various toy store runs and so mail calls of the latest Mission Fleet series vehicles. We do want to note that our hats are off to Hasbro for making good on their reduction of plastics promise as there is zero included in the Mission Fleet vehicle wave.
While we are tipping our hat, just today we received the latest Wal*Mart exclusive LFL 50th TVC line and our Ahsoka and Maul from Amazon and all four figures were in pristine shape!
That about covers it for most of our major toy and Star Wars adventures from Summer 2021 but the year is just half full so there is plenty more fun to be had. Of note, we are looking forward to the following:
- September’s Hasbro Star Wars Live Stream
- Rose City Comic Con
- The Razor Crest shipping
- Star Wars Visions on Disney+
- Washington State Toy Show
- Hasbro Pulse Con
- New York Comic Con
- Emerald City Comic Con
- The Book of Boba Fett on Disney+
- And much more
Until next time,
May the Figures be with you!
