Starwars.com revealed today the title for the upcoming sequel to The Force Awakens.  Star Wars: The Last Jedi takes its spot in the middle chapter of the sequel trilogy.

We have the greatest fans in this or any other galaxy. In appreciation of the fans, we wanted them to be the first to know the title of the next chapter in the Skywalker saga: STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI.

THE LAST JEDI is written and directed by Rian Johnson and produced by Kathleen Kennedy and Ram Bergman and executive produced by J.J. Abrams, Jason McGatlin, and Tom Karnowski.

STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI is scheduled for release December 15, 2017.

Now we can’t help but to speculate what it means;  is the title referring to Luke as the Last Jedi as he was indicated in the Episode VII crawl or is it referring to both Rey and Luke as the word Jedi is both singular and plural? Or perhaps in a more tragic speculation perhaps this final will see the fall of Skywalker leaving Rey as the last Jedi?

What’s exactly in a title? Well, we thought we’d take a look at what we perceive as the literal visual interpretation of the Saga’s film titles. Do you agree or disagree? Will The Last Jedi represent a battle resulting in a final Jedi to align with the other films? Will Episode IX result in the redemption of Kylo or the fall of Rey? Let the speculation begin…
