The final results of Hasbro's Starwars.com Fan Figure Poll have comic character Doctor Aphra winning with nearly 19.5 thousand votes while long time collector favorites Yak Face and Sim Aloo coming in with 5,000 and 3,300 votes respectively. These results were captured at 11:59 AM today just one minute before the poll closed. Starwars.com upon closing the poll posted the following: UPDATE 5/2: Thank you for voting! The poll is now closed — stay tuned for an official winner announcement on May the 4th! Unless a different figure is announced on Thursday, look for this figure to join the return of The Vintage Collection in Spring '18.

Last week during Star Wars Celebration Orlando, Hasbro asked a few dozen Star Wars action figure blogs, websites, Instagramers and podcasters to host the first round of nominations for this year’s Fan Figure Vote. The nominations were cast for the figure fans would most like to see created in 3 ¾” scale and included in next year’s return of The Vintage Collection. The nomination process closed last Wednesday with the results needing to be submitted to Hasbro by midday last Friday. Most sites, including From4-LOMtoZuckuss.com, published their top six nominations which were chosen by fan submission this past weekend. Fans and collectors have flooded us with nominations for the character they want most to be turned into a super-articulated figure included in this Spring's return of The Vintage Collection! And once again they are asking fans to participate in which figures they include in this popular series. We were able to get an early look at Hasbro's Celebration Orlando show floor booth. While other than showing off their latest action figure and toy offerings, Hasbro has gone all out in showing their love for the history of the action figure line. The 40th Anniversary of Star Wars and Hasbro's long legacy of creating Star Wars toys is treated with great appreciation and love. While not only displaying large vintage card backs from Kenner, they pay respect to Mark Bordeaux, pay tribute to The Epic Continues, and have a timeline of every action figure line they have produced since gaining the license on June 7, 1977.
In what appears to be a direct reaction to the "Where's Rey?" controversy of 2015, Disney and Lucasfilm have teamed with Hasbro to create a line of 11" "adventure" figures to accompany a new animated series of shorts which will debut this Summer. The figures in this line appear to include much more than the 5POA (points of articulation) currently found in Hasbro's 12" line of figures and truly does what no other Star Wars action figure line has ever done before by making the male figures the minority.
