SDCC 2016 Coverage

San Diego International Comic Con 2016 began as normal with their Preview Night on the night before the con.  During the event, Hasbro's Design Director Steve Evans posted a few enhancements to The Black Series line that were made over the last week since Star Wars Celebration Europe London. Fan’s Choice Polls Are Open at Starwars.com

Yesterday, Starwars.com put up the six finalists selected by select fan sites across the web for which character will be the next 6" Black Series figure. Four of the six nominations from From4-LOMtoZuckuss.com made it into the final poll.  Voting is currently taking place and will continue right up until Hasbro's San Diego Comic-Con Star Wars panel this Friday at noon Pacific. Interesting to note that Hera Sydulla from Star Wars Rebels, who can in #3 on our poll (and #1 over at our friends at Yakface.com), was absent for the final nominees. Hasbro Seeks Fan’s Photos for SDCC Figure Display

Happy Star Wars: The Force Awakens Day! Hasbro has provided us with the details surrounding their Star Wars action figure photo timeline that will be on display at this year's San Diego Comic-Con and will feature fan figure photography. Photo submission dates and details are as follows:   Star Wars: The Force Awakens lands on Digital HD on April 1st and Blu-ray April 15th, featuring tons of special features.  In celebration, Hasbro is launching the first #StarWars #HasbroToyPic Fan Figure Photo Series and calling on fans to show off their amazing collections and creativity by recreating scenes from Star Wars: The Force Awakens using Hasbro’s Star Wars figures and vehicles. We’re Back and Gearing Up for Force Friday!

We are back from our Summer hiatus and just in time to get ready for #ForceFriday this coming September 4th. We are stoked for the onslaught of new Star Wars merch that will be coming between now and the end of the year. While we were away a little event called San Diego Comic-Con took place and brought with it quite a few reveals and surprises.  The least revealing was that of Hasbro as they showed very little (and this we'll break down in a future article for historical purposes as its been covered quite thoroughly fellow Star Wars Community members). Hasbro’s 6″ TBS Fan Poll Results

After a good week of collecting submissions for Hasbro's 6" Star Wars" The Black Series Fan Choice Poll the results are in! 1st Place (6 points) – Darth Revan 2nd Place (5 points) – Starkiller 3rd Place (4 points) – Obi-Wan “Ben” Kenobi (A New Hope) 4th Place (3 points) – Asajj Ventress 5th Place (2 points) – Captain Rex 6th Place (1 point) – Gamorrean Guard Nominees were gathered from submissions posted to our official Facebook and Twitter pages as well as sent to us via email. Hasbro’s Star Wars Fans Choice Poll

We are happy to announce that Hasbro has once again turned to the fans to choose an upcoming Star Wars action figure! And SDCC’s Exclusive is…not 3 3/4″

Yesterday morning's announcement of Hasbro's Star Wars San Diego Comic-Con 2015 exclusive left us scratching our heads and a bit perplexed. The lack of a 3 3/4" action figure offering is a bit disappointing, as this year's SDCC would the last big event prior to the line's launch on Force Friday (September 4th, 2015). Its scary to think that the cards may be starting to become stacked against the original scale that started it all. We believe Hasbro when they say the 3 3/4" line isn't going anywhere but what we may not be reading between their lines is that it may not be the golden child it once was. Final SDCC ’14 Update: The Hasbro Giveaway

Thanks to our good friend and San Diego Comic-Con correspondent, Ryan Beise, for hooking us up with Hasbro's only 3 3/4" related exclusive from the con this year.  This poster was given away at Hasbro's Booth in the exhibit hall and highlights the upcoming animated series 5POA action figure line from Star Wars Rebels. Hasbro, who has created action figure posters in the past, choose to share some love with their other toy lines based on Rebels as well.  As convention giveaways go this is pretty lackluster but we can be patient this year as next year is sure to include plenty of figure and figure-related exclusives and promotions at both Celebration Anaheim and SDCC '15.
