4th Anniversary of the 1st #ForceFriday

While today we are exactly one month away from Triple Force Friday, today is also the 4th anniversary of the very first #ForceFriday. September 4th, 2015 was the official release of The Force Awakens merchandise. The build up to the event was on par with The Phantom Menace back in May of 1999! The current form of #ForceFriday began 4-years-ago but the idea behind it began in 1999 with Toys 'R' Us's Midnight Madness. The Last Jedi Packaging & Force Friday II Reveal

EW.com has released the packaging design for the next episode of the Star Wars saga, The Last Jedi.  The packaging features Episode VIII versions of our heroes Rey, Finn and Poe.  This is in contrast to the packaging of both The Force Awakens and Rogue One as they both featured villians. In addition to releasing the design which will be used by all properties producing Episode VIII paraphernalia this fall, Force Friday II was officially confirmed. The released and street date for all The Last Jedi merchandise is set for September 1st, 2017.  This is a month earlier than Rouge Friday last year but lines up with Force Friday 2015 which was held on September 4th. Rogue One Unboxing

Thanks to our friend Chris Pirillo, Jake and a few fellow collectors were given early access to some Rogue One toys!  This group unboxing includes many of the toys that were released this past weekend during Force Friday.  The big exception, which was confirmed last week by JediDefender.com, was the walking Hasbro AT-ACT which will be released later this Fall.

New Rogue One Disney Park Exclusive Set

The Disney Parks Blog has announced a multipack of new Droid Factory droids based on the upcoming Rogue One film.  This set mirrors The Force Awakens set which was released last year in September as well.  This set consists of four new droids; C2-B5, R2-BHD, R3-M2 and R5-SK1 and only one so far will also be released in the Hasbro 3 3/4" line.  C2-B5 will be included in the upcoming Rapid Fire AT-ACT vehicle.  This multipack is set for release on Force Friday and if like last year's set will be gone from the parks before the movie actually arrives in theaters on December 16th, 2016. On #ForceFriday Hasbro dropped the following press release which lists the exclusives that will accompany their The Force Awakens and Black Series action figure and toys lines. We must say we were delighted to see that the WalMart exclusive super articulated 3 3/4" Black Series figures which we reported prior to Midnight Madness turned up officially!
