The Star Wars Titanium Series Die-Cast figure series consisted of a limited number of metal 3 ¾” figures which were attached to bases and encased in clear display cases. This series as referred to by Hasbro as Forged Figures was a sub-line of their Titanium Series Die-Cast vehicle line. The line was first previewed in July of 2005 at San Diego Comic Con but did not begin showing up on store shelves until the following Spring.  Four waves of figures were released throughout 2006 along with a pair of Target exclusives and a final wave was released in Spring of ’07.

These figures retailed for $15 apiece and were intended for collectors rather than children.  Unknown to most, each figure could be removed from its base and case with the use of the screwdriver and each figure featured a few points of articulation (POA) and removable helmets and weapons.  The first three lines and the Target exclusive all featured a vintage or “patina” finish version which was meant to depict a pewter or bronze statue look.  This was abandoned toward the end of the line most likely due to the lack of connection this line made with collectors.

The first two waves featured large rounded plastic bubble packages which concaved easily and was replaced with more economical cardboard packages which featured more character specific design.  Boba Fett was the only figure to be released in both packaging versions.

The final wave of this series was very scarce and mostly appeared at discount stores. The final wave also included a non-Star Wars character as the intent of the line was to expand and include other properties into the line such as the 2004 reboot of Battlestar Galactica. The line was officially canceled in January of 2007 despite having previewed a number of upcoming figures on Hasbro.com and conventions. A total of nine figures were announced at the time of cancellation with seven of them actually seeing production in small quantities.

In a Q&A session with JediDefender.com, Hasbro announced the end of the line:

What does the future hold for the Titanium Series 3.75″ Forged Figure line? It seems like the major retailers are clearing out the figures and ending support for the line, but there are a pile of 10-12 previously announced figures that have yet to be released. Is this line really being cancelled or will it be making a comeback this summer?

**We would love to continue to support the Forged Figure line and we will continue to support the line through Spring of 2007. Unfortunately there was not enough demand for this figure line which has resulted in a lack of retail support for the figures by our retail partners.
