When it comes to celebrating Star Wars, there is no other event that can outdo the epic nature of Star Wars Celebrations. Celebrating their 20th Anniversary, from April 11th to April 15th, Lucasfilm and Disney brought in the biggest names from the Saga in addition to the 100’s of exhibitors, creators, vendors, fan groups, collectors and influences to share in the fun. Here we will chronicle our adventures each and every day of the mega-convention celebrating that galaxy far, far away.
Day One – Hasbro
The first day of the show dedicated to the vendors and exhibitors as there were no panels or show content available that day outside of the show floor. Our first stop was a trip to the Hasbro booth and as well made our way to the floor, we stopped to admire the massive mural spanning the current canon with a black cloth covering the Episode IX section.
Hasbro’s Booth
Hasbro’s booth on the show floor this year featured three large backdrops in the form of Retro Collection cardbacks. Luke Skywalker, his father Darth Vader and one featuring an X-Wing Fighter made from the Kenner mold were all available for fans to have their pictures taken with.
Hasbro, wanting to reflect each episode of the Saga, had eight Black Series display shelves which featured scenes from the films.
The entire booth was wrapped in a mural image which also featured Episodes 1-8. Here you can see Episodes IV & V.
Retro Collection
There was a ton of new and upcoming product on display. The Retro Collection was shown in all its glory. We were able to confirm that the peg holes on the figures are vintage in size and each figure will include a 2019 date stamp on the foot as well.
The Vintage Collection
The Vintage Collection was well represented and many of the upcoming exclusives were on display. Target’s Han in Stormrtrooper Disguise, Online exclusives such as Jabba’s Palace Adventure Set, the Skiff Guard 3-pack and the 4 international reissues were all featured. Also seen were Waves 5 and 6!
Galaxy of Adventures
Hasbro’s latest line of 5POA were also found in the booth. Waves 1 and 2 which are already available at retail, were joined by Wave 3 which is coming soon! The six figures of Wave 3 include Rey, Maul, Boba, Obi-Wan, Grievous, and Kylo.
The Black Series
The flagship 6″ line featured a its upcoming Summer wave, the Gamestop Jumptrooper, the Duel of the Fates Celebration Exclusives and the Target exclusive Luke Skywalker in Stormtrooper Disguise.
Star Wars: Resistance, Micro Force, Mega Mighties & Roleplay
The final case on display featured some Hasbro’s smaller and non-action figure lines. No new Resistance figures were shown, but on display was the Series 2 of Micro Force and a new scale of kid-focused figures called Mega Mighties which appear to be over-sized Galactic Heroes.
Hasbro Pulse Store
Located behind the Hasbro booth was the Hasbro Pulse store which true to form featured long lines for those lucky enough to win the Hasbro Lottery. The show exclusives were limited to one set per person and retailed for $56 after tax.
All in all, Hasbro had a great showing of current and upcoming product on display!
