Toy Fair 2019 Coverage

This weekend, Toy Fair New York kicks off its annual tradition of previewing, debuting and announcing new toys to be released throughout the year. "Toy Fair is THE can't-miss event for tapping into the $27B U.S. domestic toy market", and this weekend will be full of panels from every major toy manufacturer looking to get a piece of that billion dollar pie. On Saturday, February 16th Hasbro will hold their Hasbro’s 2019 Entertainment Brand Preview Event, powered by Hasbro Pulse. Behind the Scenes Video on Hasbro’s Photo Real

Insider has an inside look at "How Hasbro Makes Action Figures Look Just Like Movie Stars." This gives us a look at how the artists create the new lifelike face sculpts for Hasbro's Marvel Legends and Star Wars: The Black Series lines. It is interesting that they choose to reference a 1995 Power of the Force figure for their comparison figure. That figure is almost 25 years old! They also do not mention in the video that this process is also used in The Vintage Collection 3 3/4" line but nonetheless, it is a fascinating look at who Hasbro has achieved the Photo Real process.

Sillof’s Wes Anderson Star Wars

For years now James Follis, AKA Sillof, has created custom Star Wars action figures done in different genres of film and fantasy. His latest set comes at the request of actor and proud nerd, Patton Oswalt who requested a Wes Anderson take on the galaxy far, far away. Sillof elevated his game in the debut of this set by not only creating backgrounds and sets but releasing a brilliant Wes Anderson style video to showcase his work. Galaxy of Adventures Wave 3 Press Release

Hasbro has followed up Starwars.com's announcement about the third wave of Galaxy of Adventures figures coming this spring with an official press release. The announcement of Wave 3 came the same day as the latest episode was released online which features Princess Leia. The Hoth Leia figure from Wave 2 (which is now in stores) and is seen in this clip is not in every Wave 2 assortment so finding her may be a bit of a challenge. More Galaxy of Adventures Figures On The Way

Today, Starwars.com provided a preview of the next round of Galaxy of Adventures figures. Hasbro will be showing off these figures at New York Toy Fair next week and most likely providing more information about this wave that is set to for release this Spring. It's nice to see the prequels receive some attention in this line, especially as this is an anniversary year for the Saga. It should be noted that all of these figures appear to be direct reissues of past 5POA releases.
