When Marvel reacquired the comic publishing license from Dark Horse Comics to print comic books they wasted no time creating new canonical stories each month. Marvel quickly tapped the talent of John Tyler Christopher to produce a series of Action Figure Variant Covers for many of their first issues and as well for their flagship Star Wars ongoing series.
