This morning approximately 40 minutes prior to their 7 AM release time, Wal*Mart made available yesterday’s announced Clone Wars wave of The Black Series. If you missed the exclusive announcement yesterday by iO9, the wave consists of characters from the final season of The Clones Wars released earlier this year.

The figures above are centered around The Seige of Mandalore arc which ended the series.

  • Ahsoka Tano
  • 332nd Ahsoka’s Clone Trooper
  • Mandalore Loyalist
  • Mandalorian Super Commando

The wave is set to launch in November and while the pre-sales were exclusive to Wal*Mart, the release of this line will include other retailers in the Fall. As of this reporting, 12 hours after launch, only the Mandalore Loyalist is still in stock at Wal*Mart’s collector page. Many collectors who logged onto Wal*Mart’s Collector Con event were greeted with already sold-out figures. All four 6″ figures were listed, accidentally we assume, early with no images or descriptions. Many, like ourselves, took the risk and ordered them blindly. Throughout the morning, images and descriptions were updated and figures moved in and out of stock.

Now that Hasbro has solidly dipped their toes into The Clone Wars, their previous attempts included Clone Commanders Rex, Fox and Wolffe, we can hopefully expect many more in the months and years to come especially now that Lucasfilm animation has just announced the spin-off series, Star Wars: The Bad Batch.

The series is described as follows:

The series follows the elite and experimental clones of the Bad Batch (first introduced in The Clone Wars) as they find their way in a rapidly changing galaxy in the immediate aftermath of the Clone War. Members of Bad Batch — a unique squad of clones who vary genetically from their brothers in the Clone Army — each possess a singular exceptional skill, which makes them extraordinarily effective soldiers and a formidable crew. In the post-Clone War era, they will take on daring mercenary missions as they struggle to stay afloat and find new purpose.

We look forward to the return of both The Mandolarian this fall and now this series in 2021. Fingers crossed it will be just in time for a 3 3/4″ renaissance.

Until then, may the Figures be with you!
