rogue one coverThis morning Entertainment Weekly debuted the cover of their upcoming issue which will feature  exclusive content about Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. On the cover of the issue hitting newsstands, this Friday can be seen Jyn Erso and, who we now know thanks to EW.com, Captain Cassian Andor (right) and K-2SO (left) as well the new versions of AT-ATs and TIE Fighters referred to as AT-ACTs and TIE-Strikers respectively.

EW.com has also provided the names and background information about many of the core players in the A New Hope prequel which can all be found here.   Some major highlights include the official confirmation that Darth Vader will indeed be featured in the film.

It was also revealed on the website and then shortly followed by The Star Wars Show, that Forest Whitaker is playing a character from The Clones Wars.

Starwars.com’s Database has this to say about Saw Gerrera:

databank_sawgerrera_01_169_1efeeee4

Saw Gerrera was a loyal follower of King Ramsis Dendup, the benevolent monarch of Onderon who attempted to keep his world apart from the tensions of the Clone Wars. Saw believed firmly in independence, and did not want to see his planet thrust into galactic warfare. But Dendup was ousted by King Sanjay Rash, who committed the world to the Separatist cause. Saw was one of the fervent young loyalists who refused to acknowledge Rash’s rule, and openly rebelled against the crown. He and his sister Steela were cast out of the walled city of Iziz and forced to live in ruins amid the jungles of Onderon, but formed a rebellion.

Also of note from today’s reveals is that Donnie Wen’s character, Chirrut Imwe, will be playing a character who although is not force sensitive, believes in Jedi way of life. We see potential tie-ins to The Force Awakens as this sounds very much like Lorr San Tekka’s belief system.

We have more Rogue One coverage and speculation to come soon but until then,

May the Figures be with you!
