Thanks to TOY RUN: The Star Wars Action Figure Cast listener Sammy L., we have received and added the Disney Parks exclusive Droid Factory Sandcrawler Playset to our Build-a-Droid Guide!
The set is rather fantastic, as it, like its predecessor the Starspeeder 1000, has lots of sounds and light-up features. One of the stand out features includes a working electronic droid elevator.
The set is very large and more than doubles the Kenner version which was re-purposed in the Hasbro line in 2004.
The Jawa figure (left) included with the set features ball-jointed shoulders and swivel wrists but no other articulation. The mold is different but very similar to Hasbro’s Jawa figure (right) from The Black Series line.
The Gonk Droid is actually the EG-6 Power Droid found in the Sandcrawler covered in parts in A New Hope.
The insides of the crawler include details such as a light furnace, a compartment for TRASH (written in Aurebesh), a working droid crane and a light-up cockpit.
For those picking up this set, it is most likely destined to become the backdrop of many a purchase of the droids diorama.
To learn more about the Sandcrawler playset and every other Disney Droid Factory release head on over to our visual guide. We have also added images of the SOLO 4-pack, the newest Halloween-themed droid R4-BOO18, corrected the image of LOM bodies and added the Celebration Orlando 2017 exclusive button giveaways making it a complete and 100% up-to-date Disney Build-a-Droid guide. Check it out and let us know what you think!
Until the next droid drops,
May the Figures be with you!
