Star Wars action figures are awesome! We are seeking out those who share our passion, to share their thoughts and memories of playing with and collecting those amazing little figures from a galaxy far, far away. 4LOMKUSS: Philip to be honest, I doubted that we would have time for this interview because as being a fellow child of the [...]

“Don’t Bring Modern to a Vintage Shoot!”

Jake spent the afternoon with Tom from IGrewUpStarWars.com to talk "The Power of the Force" line of action figures. What happened next can only be titled, "Don't Bring Modern to a Vintage Shoot". Caution to viewers as figures were  harmed in the creation of this video and while we don't condone the destruction of Star Wars action figures, Tom is the "OT Curmudgeon" and so its to be forgiven.

Kenner X-Wings in Star Wars #18

While doing prep work for the next "issue" (episode) of The Star Wars Spinner Rack Podcast, which is the newest show on the Galaxy of Toys Broadcasting Network, we couldn't help but to notice a unique Rebel vehicle design.  On the cover of issue #18 of Brian Wood's Star Wars title appears an X-Wing which by all accounts should be very familiar to both vintage and modern Star Wars action figure collectors. Pictured to the right of Chewbacca's head is none other than a Kenner action figure version of the X-Wing Starfighter. It's Kenner origins are obvious due to its shorter fuselage, depressed R2-D2 dome (which causes the S-Foils to open) and shorter laser cannons. This mold was originally produced in 1978 and has seen multiple repaints and [...]

Collection, Question and Speculation!

Its been a fun roller-coaster of rumors and news over the last few weeks! As we have now met the cast for both Star Wars Rebels and Star Wars Episode VII and celebrated our first "official" Star Wars Day last Sunday, we are starting to speculate once again about the what the future holds for the franchise and our beloved action figure line. So our first question was inspired by an image Paul Bateman (concept designer and student of Ralph McQuarrie) recently posted comparing Ewan McGregor and Alec Guinness to the recently announced Ep VII actor Domhall Gleeson. Could we see the return of some familiar Force Ghosts?  Would they appear to all Jedi or just Luke himself?  Time will tell of course but in the [...]

StarWars.com Officially Announces EU

Today Starwars.com announced in a press release that all previous Star Wars content outside of the six theatrical episodes and the six seasons of the animated series The Clone Wars as Expanded Universe.  This of course comes at a time when Lucasfilm, and its new adoptive parent Disney, are in the process of creating a sequel trilogy which is set to take place in an era of Star Wars which has already been documented in novels and comics.  So in order to eliminate this issue Lucasfilm's story group has chosen to streamline by making all future stories in comics, television and novels as canon thus making most everything that has been released in the past Expanded Universe. We have an unprecedented slate of new Star Wars entertainment on the horizon," said Kennedy. "We're [...]

Endor’s Red Shadows Secret Base

In 2010, The Official GI Joe Collectors' Club offered a couple of exclusives at their annual International GI Joe Convention held that year in Providence, Rhode Island.  One of the exclusives offered should look familiar to many long time Star Wars action figure collectors.  The Red Shadows Secret Base, which was limited to only 500 pieces, was created from the 1997 The Power of the Force 2 Endor Attack playset.  The Imperial's shield generator bunker was converted years later into a secret base for the terrorist group Red Shadows, a group which originally were the Cobra-like villains for the UK version of GI Joe; Action Force. The following photos are from Yojoe.com, the definitive site for all things GI Joe action figure related. Its [...]
