As hype for Solo: A Star Wars Story continues to build, we have busied our self with tracking down all of the figures from the upcoming movie. While supply has been fairly sparse, in comparison to past product launches, fans and collectors have begun to complete their collections and discover variations in the line. The faithful copilot Chewbacca, has been at the center of both 3 3/4″ and 6″ versions.

Thanks to TOY RUN listener Christopher Campbell who let us know after listening to Episode 105, that his Chewie lacks detail on the back of his bandoleer.

After conferring with our friends at StarWarsCollector.com we discovered this was a running change and not a one off. Chewies produced on or before the date stamp of 80641 (March 5th, 2018) on the back of the card will lack the detailing. Those produced after that date would include the detailing as seen below.

This was further confirmed by our co-host from JediBusiness.com.

Another variation of the Wookiee was discovered by Yakface.com and this time is centers on The Black Series 6″ version. Apparently according to the image below, some of these Target Exclusive figures are being found missing a piece of Chewie’s rifle.

This piece is now showing up in larger amounts as its shelf date was May 1st but if you are not a variation hunter you’ll want to weary of which version you pick up.

Will this be the last of the variants for Solo’s very small (so far) figure lines or will more appear over time. Time will tell but there’s only one way to find out, hit those stores this weekend at Starwars.com announced plenty of deals to tie into this Friday’s May the Fourth aka Star Wars Day!

May the Figures be with you!
