Hasbro has shared with us information about their latest new line set to reach store shelves in just a few weeks. Micro Force is described as “a line of squishable and easily collectible micro figures”. If this sounds familiar or looks familiar its because this is a re-branding of Hasbro’s Fighter Pods series from 2012. The previous incarnation included launchable pods that the figures could be placed into but this feature is now absent from this version.
The release of Micro Force continues Hasbro’s recent trend of returning to past ideas. With the creation of The Black Series line a few years ago, Hasbro brought back the Titanium die-cast ship line which Galoob and later Hasbro released aplenty. The Force Awakens saw the return of Micro Machines which began in the 90’s and the rebranding of Jedi Force as Galactic Heroes. The 40th Anniversary saw the return of Titanium die-cast figures from 2006 and now we have The Last Jedi ushering in the return of Fighter Pods. Could Solo: A Star Wars Story see the return of Angry Birds or M’Pire figures…time will tell.

These stylized and movie-inspired micro collectibles include iconic characters such as REY, FINN, DARTH VADER, LUKE SKYWALKER, PRINCESS LEIA ORGANA, HAN SOLO, CHEWBACCA, YODA, R2-D2, and more. Each blind bag includes two figures and a collector card. Each sold separately. Available at most major retailers and on HasbroToyShop.com.
Pictured above is Wave 1 which will feature Han Solo, Stormtrooper, Ahsoka Tano, Darth Vader, R2-D2, Luke Skywalker, Boba Fett, Wicket, Princess Leia, C-3PO, Chewbacca, and Yoda. Each of these figures are reissues from the Fighter Pods line.
Wave 2 will feature Obi-Wan Kenobi, Jyn Erso, Rey, Finn, BB-8, Yoda, Captain Phasma, Darth Maul, Death Trooper, TIE Fighter Pilot, the Emperor, and Kylo Ren. This second wave will begin to move beyond what was released in the Fighter Pods line as it features characters from The Force Awakens and Rogue One who were not of the previous line.
For those interested in collecting this line but did not do so when it first launched in 2012, most figures can be found on eBay for .99 cents. This is not the case for retailers currently selling on Amazon as either they are preying on this recent announcement with their prices or they are completely out of touch with the true value of their merchandise.
Even though Micro Force is scheduled for next month, reports have surfaced of them appearing at Toy ‘R’ Us stores in the U.S already.
