Igloo’s New Kenner Tumbler

A huge thanks to our good friend Paul Van Dyk for the heads up on a new modern Kenner Star Wars action figure item. This tumbler appears to use the same standard Lucasfilm-approved images that most recently were used on a deck of playing cards. While this tumbler looks great, the images themselves are quite inaccurate when it comes to the vintage Kenner figure line. You can find the link for this item which is still listed as coming soon here. STAR WARS MINT IN BOX 16 OZ STAINLESS STEEL CAN TUMBLER The exciting new Star Wars x Igloo collection showcases the worldwide pop-culture phenomenon featuring iconic images and original artwork from the beloved saga. Whether one is strong with the Force, supports the Rebellion or [...]

Vintage Kenner Figures in Toy Story 4

This past weekend, Toy Story 4 made its debut and so did the animated versions of two of our favorite vintage Kenner action figures! As we discussed earlier this year, Walrus Man and Ben "Obi-Wan" Kenobi from 1978 are featured in the latest addition to the Toy Story franchise. SPOILER WARNING: While their appearance is very brief it is reminiscent of their encounter in the Mos Eisley Cantina. When Woody enlists his old sweetheart Bo in a mission to recover his Bonnie's new "toy" Forky, they visit a pinball machine which acts like a speakeasy club for lost toys. On their way to recruit Duke Kaboom they past a dismembered Zebra plush who sits next to Old Ben and Panda Boba reenacting their first interaction. In [...]

The Dryden Vos Easter Egg

We were thrilled last week to stumble upon the latest wave of Black Series figures, as they not only begin our ramp-up to celebrating the 20th Anniversary of the start of the Prequels but provide collectors a chance to add two new characters never done before to their collections. Wave 20 of Hasbro's The Black Series includes 6 new figures: Mace Windu, Padme Amidala, Battle Droid, Han Solo (Mimban), Vice Admiral Holdo and Dryden Vos.  Of these six, Holdo and Vos have yet to be done in action figure form which makes these two very exciting (although we 3 3/4" collectors are still holding our breath). Now as mention at New York Comic Con last year, the leader of Crimson Dawn comes with a special feature [...]

Birthday Scavenger Hunt – Day 5: Transformers & Over-Collecting

Welcome to Day 5 of my Birthday Scavenger Hunt. If you haven't looked over the details on how to play or how to enter to win make sure you check out Day 1's entry. Today's walk down memory lane looks quite a bit different from the previous 4 entries but it really does reflect accurately my youth. While Star Wars was incredibly important to me in my youth, much like many other kids of the eighties Star Wars faded from my mind starting around 1984. The various mega lines of the decade captured my heart and attention. In varying degrees of completion, here are the numerous action figure lines I collected as a kid. 1975 - 1985 - Adventure People (Fisher Price) 1978 - 1980 - Star Wars [...]
