Kenner Cameo: Star Voyager

Big thanks to our buddy Mark S. for letting us know about this latest Kenner cameo. This one occurred on the cover of the 1982 Atari 2600 game "Star Voyager" by Imagic. The cover art is clearly based on Kenner's version of the Millenium Falcon and thanks to a recent gaming expo, the actual model which was referenced in the art has surfaced. "Thanks again to the esteemed Earl Green - we have another photo from the Classic Gaming Expo." We have added it to our ever growing database of Kenner (and Hasbro) action figure cameos which can be found in the pic below! And of course, we are always grateful for any tips and help in hunting down new cameos that have remained [...]

Shoretrooper: Variant or Error?

A fellow Washingtonian and listener of TOY RUN, J.R., sends in a report and image of what appears to be a 3 3/4" Scarif Stormtrooper (or Shoretrooper) variant. Of note in the image provided, is the missing white and black stripe on the trooper's left shoulder. Both of the troopers pictured were purchased at the same store on the same day, according to J.R.. At first, we assumed this could be a running change from Wave 3 to Wave 4 but this was not the case as both versions that we, and JediBusiness.com, have obtained from both waves featured the black and white stripes. Fred Meyer, the store in which these originated from, have begun receiving Wave 3 of the Rogue One and therefore the [...]

Theft at Rancho Obi-Wan

We have received some unfortunate news from our friends at Rancho Obi-Wan: Dear fellow Star Wars fans and collectors, I need to share some distressing news with you because I need your help. In February we at Rancho Obi-Wan found out that we had been the victim of a major theft that surreptitiously took place over many months in late 2015 through 2016. There were more than 100 valuable items stolen, the majority of them vintage U.S. and foreign carded action figures, many of them rare and important pieces. Most have either been resold or professionally appraised for a total of more than $200,000. The theft came to light after Philip Wise, a good friend, major collector and owner of several Star Wars websites, posted [...]
